For a Dollar a Day…

D.O.R.K. hats are available for $365 pledges and above. They Opened in October 2010, starting with Dawn\’s mother (Barbara Uttke), herself (Dawn Uttke and the D in Dork), daughters, Korbie Rogge, Chelsea Rogge, daughter in law Eylssa Rogge, sons Andrew & Lucas (R in Dork), DORK = Dawn or Rogge Kids. The business has grown to carry other wonderful had made items, mostly made by local folks.  DORK does have a couple of consigners from out of state. Check out the store, located in the Plaza Mall on the ground floor.

Metlakatla group plans canoe trip to B.C.

About two years ago, a group of First Nations and Alaska Native canoeists paddled from Canada’s northwest coast, across the U.S. border to Alaska’s only Indian reservation, on Annette Island. Now, a group is planning a return journey, paddling the same route back toward the Tsimshian Native community’s roots in British Columbia. more
