Bear visits Cape Fox Lodge

A bear walked into Cape Fox Lodge Wednesday morning, checked out the coffee shop and visited the women’s restroom before it was ushered back outside by hotel staff.
Dave Hayes, who works for Cape Fox Lodge says the bear showed up at around 11:15 a.m. Hayes talked to KRBD shortly after the incident that morning at the hotel.
The Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly on Monday will consider a contract with the Ward Cove Group, allowing that company to start work on a detailed development plan for borough-owned land along Revilla Road close to Ward Lake. more
Repair work on the state-owned ferry terminal at Hollis is set to start this winter, with completion expected by August of next year. more
