Brown Mountain Road delays, closures announced

Forest Service officials on the Ketchikan-Misty Fiord Ranger District announce that cable logging operations will continue on Brown Mountain Road through Friday, Sept. 28.

Daily operations will last from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will restrict public access from mile marker 0.00 to 0.95, including the rock pit.

Log trucks will be hauling from the landings to Leask Cove. The public should anticipate delays up to one hour during operations. In addition, Brown Mountain Road will be closed from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.

Drivers are asked to use caution and follow signage and instructions by flaggers when traveling through the area.
