Utility work to close downtown street Sunday

The City of Ketchikan Public Works Department will close the corner of Front and Mill streets downtown to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday for utility work.

A detour route will be provided and marked. Please watch for signs and workers in the area.

Free class addresses chronic disease

PeaceHealth wants to reduce hospital readmissions in Ketchikan, and a $3.1 million grant from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services has funded several steps toward the goal, including hiring a five-person, full-time outpatient team. The latest program is Living Well Alaska, a course for people with chronic diseases. more
