Heating oil theft reported at Edna Bay School

Sometime over the Presidents Day holiday, someone stole about $100 worth of heating oil from Edna Bay School.
Alaska State Troopers in Klawock were told of the theft early Wednesday morning. According to Troopers, the crime occurred sometime between midnight Monday and 6:30 Tuesday morning.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Troopers in Klawock.
Point Higgins Elementary School, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has more preschoolers than anticipated and needs another teacher. more
Last week, Ketchikan residents gathered at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center auditorium to watch an hour-long video called “Chasing the Dragon.” It’s an FBI-produced film about opioid abuse. After the film the audience and a panel of experts talked for two more hours about the problem of drug abuse, and what individuals in the community can do to help. more
