Ketchikan artist Terry Pyles

Terry Pyles’ “Alaskan Kitchen Scene”

Ketchikan artist Terry Pyles is probably best known for his realistic paintings of Alaskan wildlife and life-sized marine mammal sculptures.  He also created piling caps that can been seen next to the Salmon Landing market, and most recently created a salmon sculpture to replace the one that was deteriorating on Ketchikan Creek.  Pyles speaks about his background and work. Ketchikan hosts high school music festival

Thunder Mountain Jazz Band performs in the Kayhi auditorium.
Around 500 young musicians from all over Southeast Alaska brought their instruments and voices to Ketchikan last weekend for Music Festival. It’s an event that rotates between Ketchikan, Juneau, and Sitka each year. more
