Here’s a little video from Saturday, when there was quite a bit of flooding in Ketchikan following about 13 inches of rain in five days. This was shot on Freeman Street next to Ketchikan Creek, and you can see just how close the creek water was to the road.

In the Garden
The garlic is planted, the celery is harvested, the last of the lettuce has succumbed to the cold weather and the kale, well the kale is pretty happy. In fact, the kale is definitely in charge in it’s part of the garden. In the last month, I’ve repeatedly covered the kale at the front of the garden, placed a rock on the garden ledge to hold the cover down, only to find within a day or two, the rock on the ground and the kale poking out from under the covering. To say I’m impressed is putting it mildly. I know kale is touted as a super vegetable, but this was never mentioned in all the descriptions of what the plant could do. KRBD’s kale has serious muscle !
