Gov. Sean Parnell announced Monday that state flags will be lowered on Tuesday in honor of former Representative Fred Brown.
Brown died on Friday at the age of 70.
First elected in 1974, Brown served four terms in the Alaska House of Representatives. He represented Fairbanks, and was an active member of that community.
State flags will be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday. Flags should return to full-staff on Wednesday.
While the two candidates agree on some issues, such as promoting resource development and making sure the Alaska Marine Highway System remains viable, they have some clear differences, as well. One such area is Medicaid expansion. more
