Fawn Mountain honored by National PTA

Ketchikan’s Fawn Mountain Elementary School has received an honor from the National Parent Teacher Association.
The National PTA chose Fawn Mountain as one of 170 schools across the country for the 2014-2016 National PTA Schools of Excellence achievement.
In a press release, the National PTA said they chose schools where families feel engaged, like they have a voice in their child’s education.
Two Anchorage schools were also chosen for the honor — Campbell Elementary and Rabbit Creek Elementary.

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly Monday night Monday decided to postpone indefinitely a citizen request to establish at $10 per ounce excise tax on marijuana. The Assembly also heard an annual report from AIDEA. more
