Ketchikan’s Fawn Mountain Elementary School has received an honor from the National Parent Teacher Association.
The National PTA chose Fawn Mountain as one of 170 schools across the country for the 2014-2016 National PTA Schools of Excellence achievement.
In a press release, the National PTA said they chose schools where families feel engaged, like they have a voice in their child’s education.
Two Anchorage schools were also chosen for the honor — Campbell Elementary and Rabbit Creek Elementary.
While the two candidates agree on some issues, such as promoting resource development and making sure the Alaska Marine Highway System remains viable, they have some clear differences, as well. One such area is Medicaid expansion. more
