U.S. Coast Guard Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiners will offer dockside exams for commercial fishing vessels in Craig and Klawock Sept. 22 through 24.
Voluntary dockside exams are free and take about an hour. The Coast Guard has an online vessel-specific checklist generator at www.fishsafe.info. That allows vessel operators to print out a list of all safety requirements prior to the exam.
