A 26-year-old Ketchikan woman who already was incarcerated faces additional charges after she allegedly attempted to escape from custody on Friday.

According to Alaska State Troopers, Tiffany Martinez had been taken to the Ketchikan courthouse for a scheduled hearing. After the hearing, Troopers say that Martinez broke away in the courthouse parking garage and ran. Troopers report that she was re-apprehended by Court Services Officers.

Martinez now faces two new charges: attempted escape III and resisting arrest.

According to the Alaska Court System website, her other open cases include a felony vehicle theft charge and some misdemeanors, including indecent exposure.

An arraignment hearing for the new charges was set for Monday afternoon.
