Ketchikan is the most exciting place in Alaska. No, really.

The real estate website Movoto.com, which in April ranked Ketchikan the sixth best place to live in Alaska, now has placed the First City in first place for excitement.

The website looked at bars, live-music venues, outdoor activities, non-fast-food restaurants, the arts, population and the age range of residents. The City of Ketchikan received top billing in part because about a quarter of the residents are between 18 and 34, and has a lot of stuff for those young people to do.

The arts, in particular, put Ketchikan over the top. Movoto says Alaska’s First City has the most arts listings per capita in the state. Ketchikan was the only Southeast city in the list’s top-10.

Fairbanks ranked second, followed by Wasilla, Palmer, Kodiak, Homer, College, Badger, Bethel and Kenai.
