Ketchikan Creek is now open for fishing, including king salmon.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announced Thursday that fishing for all species of salmon could commence on the creek, and will continue through the end of the year.

The bag and possession limit for kings is two of any size. Fish and Game added that the Deer Mountain Hatchery will not take king salmon eggs this year, which means there will be excess kings in the creek available for fishing.

The limit for other salmon species is two per day, and two in possession.

Fishing gear for the creek is limited to one, unbaited, single-hook with an artificial lure.
