A traffic stop Friday night on North Tongass Highway led to the discovery of alleged methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

According to the Alaska State Troopers online dispatch, troopers stopped a Nissan truck for an equipment violation near Mile 6 North Tongass. The 34-year-old man driving the truck did not have a valid driver’s license, and had court-ordered conditions of release, which included following all laws.

He was arrested and charged with violating those conditions of release by driving without a license. Troopers seized the vehicle and obtained a search warrant. Methamphetamine and drug related paraphernalia allegedly were located inside the truck.

The case remains under investigation.
