Additional charges have been filed against a 27-year-old Prince of Wales Island man accused of murdering his girlfriend.

Albert Peter Macasaet is charged in the July 31st strangling death of 27-year-old Judylee Guthrie of Hydaburg. He was arrested August 9th in Klawock following a 10-hour standoff with Alaska State Troopers, but was immediately hospitalized for an alleged drug overdose.

Macasaet was released from PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center on August 15th. The next day he was arraigned in Ketchikan District Court on one count of first degree murder.

A Ketchikan grand jury indicted Macasaet Thursday, on one count of first degree murder and two counts of kidnapping. All are unclassified felonies.

The grand jury also indicted Macasaet on one count of fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, and one count of resisting or interfering with arrest. Both are Class A misdemeanors.

Macaset is being held on $100,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Craig Superior Court. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 25th.
