birdThe Ketchikan Gateway Borough School Board is seeking applicants from eligible residents interested in filling a vacancy on the board.

Board President Michelle O’Brien is resigning from the board, effective Oct. 12th. Her decision to resign came too late in this year’s election cycle for her seat to be on the Oct. 4th local ballot.

Whoever is appointed to her seat will serve one year, then the seat will be on next year’s ballot.

The deadline to apply for the position is Oct. 17th.

Application information is on the Ketchikan School District’s website.
