The Ketchikan Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the premiere of two exciting documentary storytelling films about our community and culture. Ketchikan: Our Native Legacy highlights our rich Native heritage from time immemorial to the present day. Ketchikan: The Artists focuses on our incredibly vibrant and varied arts community. The films join Ketchikan: A Fish Story (2010) as part of the successful and ongoing Ketchikan Story Project, stories designed to showcase Ketchikan as an interesting and unique travel destination. Join us for this double-feature presentation with the production staff on-hand to discuss their process and answer questions. FREE Safety Training Offered for Commercial Fishermen in HydaburgAlaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA) will offer a one day 10-hour commercial fishing vessel safety and Emergency Drill Conductor course in Hydaburg on May 5, 2012 at the Hydaburg School. This course meets the Coast Guard requirements for commercial fishing vessels. It is available FREE to commercial fishermen thanks to support from the Coast Guard, NIOSH, the state of Alaska and individual AMSEA memberships.
