Southeast Alaska Subsistence Regional Advisory Council to Meet in Ketchikan
The Southeast Alaska Subsistence Regional Advisory Council will hold a meeting from September 24-26, 2013 in Ketchikan at the Ted Ferry Civic Center. During this meeting, the Council will:
- Review and develop recommendations on proposed changes to Federal subsistence hunting and trapping regulations for 2014–2016.
- Hear a detailed briefing on the use of customary and traditional use determinations in the Federal Subsistence Management Program. The Council may develop recommendations to the Federal Subsistence Board regarding customary and tradition use determinations.
- Review the rural determination process and develop recommendations to the Board on possible changes to improve the process.
- Other issues regarding subsistence important to the region will also be discussed at this meeting.
The Federal Subsistence Board will consider the Council’s recommendations when it meets April 15–17, 2014 in Anchorage.
