Northwest Coast feast trays have an elongated square form, with flattened end projections that are decorated with carved formline or sculptural designs. Feast trays were used to present and serve food items at potlatch feasts, and could range in size from miniature to great platters several feet long. Noted Haida carver Donald Varnell will guide students in designing and carving a mid-sized traditional feast tray.
