The Alaska Congressional Delegation recently announced grants to various programs in Alaska. Among the grants was a $50,000 Housing Preservation grant to the Metlakatla Housing Authority.

The grant will help the authority repair eight homes owned by low-income elders in that community.

Other grants will help other Alaska communities improve their communication and internet access; support post-secondary education programs in Anchorage and Barrow; and purchase bulletproof vests for 15 jurisdictions throughout the state.
