While there are no public charging stations in Ketchikan, there are electric vehicles on the road in Alaska’s First City. KRBD’s Leila Kheiry recently took a ride with Chris Wilhelm, an enthusiastic new e-vehicle owner. Below is an audio postcard of their brief jaunt around town.

Wilhelm says there are at least two other Leaf owners in Ketchikan. In addition to the Nissan Leaf, Ford, Chevy, Kia, Fiat, VW and other car manufacturers have their own versions of all-electric cars.
