State primaries are fast approaching, and one sign of that deadline is a steady stream of candidates visiting Alaska’s First City. Republican candidate for governor, Rep. Mike Chenault, came by KRBD on Thursday to talk about some of the issues that prompted him to throw his hat into the ring.

Here’s a portion of his conversation with KRBD’s Leila Kheiry.

Chenault has not yet filed his candidacy with the Alaska Division of Elections. The deadline for that is June 1.
