KRBD is looking for its next amazing news intern!
Every summer, KRBD provides a 10-week internship for a college student or recent college graduate who wants experience as a radio journalist. We offer real-world reporting opportunities in beautiful southern Southeast Alaska. Ketchikan has mountains, ocean, rivers, lakes, salmon, eagles, bears, trees and a whole lot of news to cover. Be part of the dynamic Alaska public radio team!
KRBD’s summer intern will report, take photos and post web copy; and will fill in on the board as needed for Morning Edition hosting. Extra duties might include wearing a boat costume. We’ll explain later.
Qualified candidates should be journalism or communications majors. We have a strong preference for candidates who focused on radio reporting. Some training on equipment will be provided.
KRBD pays a stipend of $1,000 for the entire 10 weeks. We also provide housing and a bicycle. Internship begins in early June.
Please email a resume and cover letter to News Director Leila Kheiry, news@krbd.org. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 28th.
