Ketchikan police say a 22-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of killing his stepfather in a West End home.
Lt. Andy Berntson said Friday the victim was 43-year-old Peter A. Jensen.
“At about 3:30 this morning, officers with the Ketchikan Police Department as well as medics with the Ketchikan Fire Department responded to a call for service in the 400 block of Carlanna [Lake Road] to a residence based on a complaint, or a report, that a male was needing medical attention, was bloody and unknown if he was still alive,” Berntson said.
Officers arrested Tyler Cavanaugh. He’s Jensen’s stepson, Berntson said. A motive has not been established.
“It appears to be a physical altercation that did not involve weapons,” Berntson added.
Cavanaugh will be arraigned over the weekend. He’s being held without bail at Ketchikan Correctional Center.
