“One Poem A Day Won’t Kill You” Schedule

Poems air on Morning Edition at approximately 6:30 and 7:30 am, and at the end of the KRBD Evening Report (approximately 5:30 pm).  Poems also air during locally hosted music programs.

April 1 – Rebecca Brown reads “Grin” by Robert Service. 

 

April 2 – Bridgit Stearns reads “Gratitude to Old Teachers” by Thomas Bly.

 

April 3 – Wayne Kinunen reads his poem “Elegy on a Finnish Sauna.” 

 

April 4 – Karen Petersen reads “I Carry Your Heart” by e.e. cummings. 

 

April 5 – Debi Olsen and Holly Patotzka read “Grasshoppers” by Paul Fleishman. 

 

April 6 – Bill Rotecki reads an untitled poem that he wrote. 

 

April 7 – Janalee Gage reads “The Woman I Am” by Absent Wryta. 

 

April 8 – Frances Klein reads a poem she wrote – “Between the Devil and the Clear Blue Sky.”

 

April 9 – Pat Tully reads Thomas Hardy’s “The Convergence of the Twain.”

 

April 10 – Ray Troll reads an original poem, “Save What you Love.”

 

April 11 – Jessica Clark shares a poetic thought.

 

April 12 – Diane Gubatayao reads “Hope is a Thing with Feathers” by Emily Dickinson.

 

April 13 – Amie Toepfer reads “A Jellyfish” by Marianne Moore.

 

April 14 – Colin Patton reads “In Goya’s Greatest Scenes We Seem to See” by Laurence Ferlinghetti.

 

April 15 – Katherine Tatsuda reads “”I Dwell in Possibilities” by Emily Dickinson. 

 

April 16 – Doug Rhodes reads a poem he wrote in honor of the City of Craig’s Centennial.

 

April 17 –  Barbara Morgan reads Marietta Holley’s poem, “Spring Song of the Swallow.”

 

April 18 – Stephanie Patton reads her poem – “Truth.”

 

April 19 – Dave Kiffer reads an original poem he calls “Acedia.”

April 26 – Michael Swetnam reads, by permission, “Start Close In” by David Whyte.

April 28 – Halli Kenoyer reads “Saxman” by Malin Guthrie.

April 29 – Eric Stone reads “In Blackwater Woods” by Mary Oliver.
