Mike Gates has accepted a six week contract to be the interim General Manager at KRBD starting March 1. He presently is Development, Operations, and Volunteer Specialist – a hydra headed job that has highlighted his people-skills by leading successful underwriting campaigns.

The KRBD Board of Directors voted on the contract after an Executive Session Tuesday, February 13 at the station.

“I am grateful for the confidence the board has shown me and the support I’ve felt from our members.” Mike said the day after the Board meeting.  “This is more than just a job, this is an adventure and an exciting way to be so closely involved with our community, our members, our staff and volunteers.”

He will continue to increase revenue for the station with the upcoming Spring Membership Drive March 24-30 and make the case with local businesses, agencies, and individuals about the benefits of underwriting as well as add the day-to-day duties of General Manager.

Marty West will continue as General Manager until February 27.
