Drivers will have to pay a little more to park at Ketchikan airport starting this summer.
On Monday, the Ketchikan Borough Assembly approved an ordinance that increases a number of airport rates and fees.
The change goes into effect July 1. It will then cost $3.50 to park on the Revilla (Ketchikan) side, and $4.50 to park on the Gravina (airport) side. That’s a $1.50 hike for both rates.
The parking increases are one of several airport rates going up in order to raise revenues to help fund the terminal expansion and operations. Also being increased are landing fees, fueling fees, and land lease rates, among others.
The ordinance also adds a monthly pass for non-commercial vehicles to use the ferry.
The Assembly approved the measure 6-1.
