The deadline to file for municipal office in Ketchikan closed on Monday and all seats are competitive.

On the City side, three people are vying for two, 3-year terms on City Council. They are incumbent Abby Bradberry, former Ketchikan City Council member Janalee Gage and Robb Arnold who unsuccessfully ran for City Council and School Board in 2023. City Council member Lallette Kistler opted not to run for reelection.

On the Borough side, assembly members Jaimie Palmer and Austin Otos are running for mayor.

Running for two, 3-year terms on the Borough Assembly are Borough Mayor Rodney Dial, incumbent Glen Thompson, and former Assembly member Grant EchoHawk.

Running for a 1-year seat on the Assembly are former District 1 Representative Dan Ortiz and incumbent Alan Bailey, who was appointed to fill a vacancy last January.

Four people are running for two, 3-year terms on the School Board: Melissa Reed, Lindsey Johnson, Steven Thomas and Jon Schleiff II.

Running for the sole 2-year term on the School Board are Shari Montgomery and Paul Robbins Jr.

Sunday, September 7th is the last day to register to vote in the Ketchikan municipal elections.  Election day is Tuesday, October 7.
