Tuesday was municipal election day for communities across Alaska. Unofficial election results are in for cities on Prince of Wales Island.

Craig also saw races for two city council seats, one of which was uncontested. Those will be filled by Chanel McKinley-Randall and Mike Campnich. Elected to the city’s school board were Patricia Conatser and Loni Lingley.

Just north, in Klawock, Don J. Nickerson Jr. was re-elected to the mayor’s seat in an uncontested race. Elected to Klawock’s city council were Brenda Leask and Patricia Cottle, who both ran uncontested races. Lisa George and Karen Cleary were elected to the city’s school board.

In Hydaburg, Mary Anna Grant, Mark Knapp, and Sam Mooney were elected to city council in uncontested races. David Nix and Claude Young were elected to the city’s school board.

Across the island, in Thorne Bay, Timber Pesterfield, Gary Anderson and Thom Cunningham were elected to city council. To the north, in Coffman Cove, John Mulcare and Jerry Vellutini were elected to city council.

Closer to Ketchikan, Saxman also held their city election Tuesday. Denny Blair Jr. and Norman Natkong Sr. won uncontested races for city council.
