When police arrived at Herman Brown III’s door with a search warrant, they were following up on a report of an illegal handgun. Brown’s a felon, and felons can’t have pistols. What Ketchikan Police’s Andy Berntson says they found during the Jan. 24 search, though, was a small arsenal: a semi-automatic rifle with thousands of rounds of ammunition, plus bomb-making materials.
