USCG rescues 2 men, dog during Sunday storm

Two men and their dog were rescued Sunday in Gem Cove, about 23 miles east of Ketchikan. According to U.S. Coast Guard spokeswoman, Petty Officer Sara Francis, the men reported that their joined vessels had hit some rocks and were taking on water.

A 21-year-old Ketchikan man was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.

Rejected federal grants come back to Assembly
