Winning halibut weighs in at 147.6 pounds

The Southern Southeast Alaska Building Industry Association annual halibut derby wrapped up on Sunday in Ketchikan, with the largest fish coming in at 147 pounds, 6 ounces.

Pool to open Monday

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough Parks and Recreation department announced Friday that the new pool will open Monday. The first swimming opportunity will be 5 a.m. Monday, when the pool opens for lap swims.
