The superintendent shared a written update Friday describing the progress made, saying building assignments for next year are coming soon.

The City of Saxman lifted the boil notice on Feb. 13, saying the water plant was once again fully functional.

The council will decide whether to appoint a temporary replacement or leave the seat vacant until the next election in October.

The plan consolidates Kindergarten through third grade at Point Higgins and Fawn Mountain and fourth through sixth at Houghtaling.

The idea of closing Point Higgins Elementary is a reaction to the possibility that the state may not approve any additional school funding.
