Betsy Holley, a spokesperson for the state’s Department of Corrections, told KRBD that Morgan received a standard medical evaluation when he arrived at the jail. 

But there’s one catch: the caves are now underwater. Lead researcher Kelly Monteleone said they would’ve been above water around 10,000 years ago.

The years-long journey is called Moananuiākea, and it kicks off in Alaska. Right now, the canoe is traveling through the Southeast region. 

Alaska State Troopers say Dwight Chris John sexually abused a young family member when he visited the child’s community on Prince of Wales Island, or when the child came to visit him in Ketchikan. 

The canoe has a fiberglass hull with wood underneath, and is painted red, white, and black. A design of running salmon swirls around the canoe.
