Southeast Conference pitches wood pellet production in Ketchikan

Wood pellets are a biofuel alternative to heating oil furnaces. Ketchikan was picked primarily due to the community’s use of pellet boilers, relatively low energy costs and the potential of biomass waste available in the community.
