Tongass timber project on Prince of Wales Island gets its day in court

Conservationists say the U.S. Forest Service didn’t give enough details of which 23,269 acres of old growth would be logged over 15 years. A federal judge has temporarily halted logging and will rule whether the largest Tongass timber sale in 30 years may proceed.
