Feds announce $7 million plan to seal Prince of Wales Island uranium mine
The U.S. Forest Service has reached a deal with Newmont Corporation to clean up and contain a former uranium mine on Prince of Wales Island. The outlines of the plan are open for review with the federal agency taking written comments through August 7.
