Alaska State Troopers are investigating two recent thefts in Ketchikan: a burglary at a home in the Forest Park area, and the theft of fuel from a business on the North End.

According to the troopers’ online dispatch, both crimes were reported on Friday. The Forest Park burglary happened Thursday night. Troopers say that someone entered the home through an unlocked window while the residents were sleeping.

The residents report that cash, jewelry and paperwork were taken. The estimated value of stolen items is $1,500.

The North End business told troopers that the fuel was stolen sometime in the preceding six days. They said about 150 gallons was taken from an external storage tank near Mile 6 North Tongass Highway.

The estimated value of the stolen fuel is $550.
