A 34-year-old Ketchikan woman and a 47-year-old Ketchikan man face felony drug charges for allegedly bringing 44 grams of methamphetamine into the community.

According to court documents submitted by Ketchikan Police Lt. Andy Bertnson, Heather Diane Morris allegedly sent the drugs from Texas to Ketchikan.

Berntson writes that on Thursday, James Robert Lorme was seen picking up the drugs, and getting into a vehicle driven by Morris.

Police say that after contacting the two suspects, officers seized a gun, paraphernalia and an additional 2.4 grams of meth from Lorme.  

Both defendants allegedly admitted to their parts in sending and receiving the drugs.Morris was arrested and charged with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. Lorme was arrested and charged with second- and third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, and second-degree weapons misconduct.
