The Ketchikan School Board will vote Wednesday on approving contracts for non-tenured teachers.
If passed, the move will commit the district to spending about $1.6 million for those 27 teachers’ salaries and benefits. At its last meeting, the board approved the district’s FY20 budget.
Also Wednesday, the board will vote on contracted services for speech pathology and occupational therapy. The district has not been able to fill those vacant positions, but is required to offer those services. The contracts are estimated to total about $157,000.
In other matters, the board will consider a contract of up to about $156,000 with Tyler Technologies. The business would implement new software to integrate management systems for finance and human resources.
According to the agenda statement, the current software is inadequate and requires manual paper processes that are subject to human error.
Wednesday’s Ketchikan School Board meeting starts at 6 p.m. in borough assembly chambers at the White Cliff Building. Public comment will be heard at the start and end of the meeting.
