With another candidate tossing her hat in the ring, there are now candidates running for all Ketchikan city and borough offices.

School Board Member Leslie Becker was appointed early this year to fill a vacancy on the board. Becker filed Thursday to retain that seat, a one-year term. Becker is the first to file for that seat.

Running for the two three-year terms on the school board are incumbents Tom Heutte and Bridget Mattson.

In other borough elections, Sidney Hartley and Borough Assembly Member Rodney Dial are running for borough mayor.

The incumbent mayor, David Landis, is unable to run for re-election due to term limits.  Landis is running for Borough Assembly, instead, along with Austin Otos. There are two, three-year terms open on Borough Assembly. The seats are currently held by Dial and Judith McQuerry.

On the city side, incumbents Lew Williams III and Judy Zenge filed to retain their seats on the Ketchikan City Council. There are two three-year terms open on the council.

The filing period for both city and borough office ends at noon on August 26th.

Municipal elections are Tuesday, October 1st.
