Ketchikan’s school board is slated to discuss its recent consultation with Ketchikan’s tribal government at its Wednesday meeting. The board met with the Ketchikan Indian Community’s Tribal Council last week to discuss education for tribal members.

The board is also expected to approve three teaching contracts and discuss its “org chart” — which essentially shows which employees report to which supervisors within the school district.

Ketchikan’s school board is also set to hold two closed-door sessions: one to discuss the district’s leases for offsite classroom space and another to discuss food service at the district’s schools. No other information was provided.

The Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Ketchikan’s White Cliff building. Residents can offer testimony at the beginning and end of the meeting.
