Final results are in for municipal elections in the Prince of Wales Island community of Craig. The City Council certified the election Thursday evening.

Mayor Tim O’Connor has won another two-year term. He led in preliminary results and expanded his lead over challenger Chaundell Piburn to more than 50 votes after absentee and questioned ballots were tallied by the community’s Canvass Board.

City Council Member Hannah Bazinet has also won another three-year term in Seat D, fending off a challenge from Trampus Conaster. She had just a five-vote lead on election night, but her lead expanded to nearly 20 in final results.

The Canvass Board also confirmed James See’s uncontested victory for City Council Seat C, and Joel Steenstra’s unopposed bid for a three-year term on the school board. Patricia Conaster won a one-year term on the school board, beating out Jeremy Crews.

Other Prince of Wales Island communities are set to report final election results in the coming days. Thorne Bay is scheduled to count its remaining ballots Friday evening, and officials in Klawock and Hydaburg are scheduled to finalize election results on Monday.
