The body of a man found beneath a cruise ship dock in the middle of downtown Ketchikan over the weekend has been identified as 44-year-old Luke A. Moore. Ketchikan police chief Jeff Walls confirmed the identity of the deceased in an email to KRBD.
The man’s body was found on Saturday afternoon in the water underneath the Tongass Cement Dock, which is located near the Sourdough Bar and Tongass Trading Company.
Walls said the department is actively investigating the circumstances of Moore’s death, but there don’t appear to be any signs of foul play.
Police were able to positively identify Moore’s body but waited to release his identity until next of kin were notified.
