A Metlakatla resident was found dead in Ketchikan on Monday morning, according to the Ketchikan Police Department.

Police say they found the body of an 18-year-old woman along the waterline of the Tongass Narrows, underneath the former Talbot’s Building Supply store. Police do not suspect foul play, but they are still investigating.

The family of the woman has been notified. The body has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy. Police say they will release the woman’s name after the autopsy.

According to police, the death investigation is unrelated to a multi-officer domestic violence arrest on Monday at the Ketchikan Walmart on Don King Road.
