There were no injuries reported after a 38-foot fishing vessel ran aground near Ketchikan this weekend.

The U.S. Coast Guard received a report Saturday morning of a vessel aground with one person aboard at Lyman Anchorage in Clarence Strait. Personnel at Coast Guard Sector Juenau issued an emergency marine broadcast for assistance, and requested the launch of a crew from Station Ketchikan. An Air Station Sitka helicopter crew also responded to the scene, as well as a Good Samaritan vessel, the Guardian.

The Ketchikan crew recovered the boater from the beach and transferred him safely back home.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
