A 50-year-old Anchorage man suffered non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday after accidentally shooting himself in the face while duck hunting in the Thorne Bay area.

According to the Alaska State Troopers online dispatch, the accident took place Wednesday afternoon. Troopers report that the man slipped on some rocks and dropped his semi-automatic shotgun. It fired after striking the ground, and the shot hit the man in the face.

Troopers report that the man was treated at the Alicia Roberts Clinic in Klawock, and was released.
