A driver suffered minor injuries in a vehicle accident early Wednesday evening south of city limits.

According to the Alaska State Troopers online dispatch, a 40-year-old Ketchikan woman was southbound at around Mile 5 South Tongass Highway when she lost control of her Chevy pickup. The truck left the road, went into a ditch, went back out of the ditch and hit a parked vehicle, according to troopers.

The woman was wearing her seatbelt at the time. She had minor injuries and was taken to PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center by South Tongass Volunteer Fire Department.

Troopers report that both vehicles were damaged substantially. The case is under investigation.
