A 35-year-old Ketchikan man has been charged with eight counts of possessing child pornography, all class C felonies.

According to the complaint filed in court by Detective Ryan Pritz, the Ketchikan Police Department received information through the Anchorage Police Department on Jan. 25th about child porn images identified by the Internet Crimes Against Children division.

Those multiple images showed graphic content of young boys engaged in sexual acts. The complaint states that the images were connected to an IP address registered to Bryan Oftedahl in Ketchikan.

The complaint states that when police contacted Oftedahl, he admitted to uploading and sharing pornography depicting young boys. He told police that a laptop they seized would include thousands more videos and images.

The laptop was sent to Anchorage for analysis by the Internet Crimes Against Children division.

Oftedahl remains in custody on $10,000 bail. His next hearing is April 13th in Ketchikan District Court.
