A 49-year-old Ketchikan woman is safe after losing her way during a hike Monday between Perseverance Lake and Carlanna Lake.

According to the Alaska State Troopers online dispatch, troopers received a call from the woman at about 12:30 p.m. reporting that she couldn’t find the trail. The dispatcher was able to obtain GPS coordinates to determine her location. 

Ketchikan Volunteer Rescue Squad was contacted and responded to the scene with a helicopter. At approximately 2:30 p.m., troopers say, KVRS crews returned to Ketchikan with the woman.
